Man in Southold truck crash charged with DWI

A Greenport man who crashed a dump truck into a tree on Main Road in Southold Thursday night was released in his own recognizance following his arraignment in Town Justice Court Friday morning on a drunk driving charge, Southold Police said.

Police said Hermogenes Aguilera, 30, was westbound when he crossed over the eastbound lane and struck a tree at 10:43 p.m.

Complaining of chest pains, he was taken to Eastern Long Island Hospital for evaluation before being brought to police headquarters in Peconic for processing, according to reports.
